"… your January (2001) e-mail is truly great. You are doing a great ministry. Keep up the good work. Robert"
"Dear Nathan, Thank you so much for the newsletter. It came at a good time for me. Your testimony and the other articles really ministered to me. I am subscribing to the paper and will be looking forward to getting it and will share it with others. You are doing a wonderful job! Your brother in Christ, Jimmy"
"Thanks for your Jan. issue. Tremendous. Prayers for 2001 to be marvelous for you, Marie Hebrews 12:1-3"
"I was just telling a friend yesterday that I hadn't received your newsletter in awhile and today when I opened it I knew why. I have gone through one of Corrie's dark tunnels [see the January 2001 issue] these last few days and I almost jumped out. Thankfully God has sent me a wonderful wise friend to pray for me and all is well now. When I read this letter today I knew it was for me. God is in control and I need to live that way everyday. Thank you and God bless you for this wonderful ministry. (name withheld)"
"Just dropping you a thank you note for all the wonderful teaching/writing you do in the Lord's name and to let you know how much you are thought of as we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. May God bless every area of your life. Love in the Lord, Sherry"
"Hi, I just wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for your very inspirational devotional. It blesses me so much! I look forward to it every month and am always so glad when it arrives! Love in Jesus, Peggy"
"Thanks indeed for your November (2000) edition it was really a life-saver. I have been going through a trial of faith which was that I have been married for three years and no child yet and this has been my heart desire. So this week I have indeed being low in my spirit but your mail lifted me up and I encouraged myself in the Lord. My slogan now also is NO TEST NO TESTIMONY [see the lead story in the Nov. 2000 issue]. Thanks. Please remember me in your prayers. (name omitted)"
"One of my friends forwarded me one of your newsletters. I liked it. Therefor I want to subscribe to it. Does it cost anything? Brother In Christ, Philip"
Philip, thanks for your inquiry. There is no cost to subscribe to The LIGHTHOUSE newsletter. We feel fortunate to be able to freely share with our readers the hope and encouragement which God has shared with us. Glad you have chosen to become a part of our reading family. Welcome!
"Keep up the excellent work, Nathan. I am happy for you that you have found a calling. Dan"
"Hey, really loved reading the newsletter, think it was written for me this month..... although I know a few people who are in the same boat...... think there was a definite need for that message. (name omitted)"
"Hey Nathan. Hope all is well with you. The website is very coooool. Congratulations to all involved for a job well done. My only criticism is the picture of the little lighthouse at the bottom of the main page. The light is moving around way too fast and appears to be "out of control". It needs to slow way down. Take care bro! Don't ever forget...LIFE IS TOUGH, BUT GOD IS FAITHFUL! In Christ, Craig"
Craig, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I agree with you. It works well in Explorer but moves way too fast in Netscape. So far we've been unable to find a solution to the problem but we'll keep trying.
"I Praise God for you and your ministry!!! What a joy to start my morning. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Wilma in Wisconsin"
"This is a beautiful site. LuJean"
"The new site looks great. I have it added to my favorites. I have also kept past issues in this site. Are all your past issues in the new site? Thanks for all the great things you do. Love in the Lord, Sherry <>< god's blessing on you and your family"
What an encouraging note, Sherry! Yes, all of our past issues may be accessed through the site. Go to the Archives page and click on the archives link indicated on that page. It will take you to a listing of all of our past issues, each one of which may be opened and read.
"... after
a day at work and read your site, how encouraging to know the
one thing we have in common, and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ... I look forward for that blessed day and to meet Him face to face and you be there also. Have a good day, dear brother. In His Love, Wilma"
"No fair sending tears. I haven't even gotten into the body of this issue
of Lighthouse and already I'm crying. You have no idea how hard it is sometimes to keep your "smile" on your face even when God keeps it in your heart. I think that is the difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is dictated by our circumstances
but JOY, true joy in the Lord cannot be shaken by the things of this world. Amen and Praise the Lord!!!! Sandy"
"Hello, my
Brother!!! What a beautiful testimony to the character of Christ! [It] was awesome! Bill" (in response to the lead article in the Oct. 2000 issue)
"I have been
receiving The LIGHTHOUSE for a few months now and always enjoy
the stories and poetry. But today's issue was the best I have
received so far. I just had to write to say Thank you - I felt
like today's issue was sent directly to me. Like God had told
you exactly what I needed to hear and had you send it to me. Thank
you so much for the wonderful work you do. Love in Christ, LeAnne"
"Happy Birthday
to the newsletter. [editor's note: we celebrated our second anniversary
in September 2000.) Here's just one small example of how you (I should say how God uses you) to bless with it. I live in Dallas where it has hovered in the high's between 108 and 111 degrees for the past week. I became a single Mom this year and already felt somewhat beaten. My home's air conditioner went out this weekend, just in time for the parts shops to close early for the long Labor Day weekend. My children and I have been vagabonds for the past four days, but thanks to God and friends and family, were able to escape the heat at the worst parts of the days and nights. It has been exhausting, and by the time this wonderful 'long' weekend ended, my happy exterior had melted and I began to fall apart. That's when I got to work and read your encouraging
newsletter and put things right back where they belonged. Leaning
in the shade of my Creator. THANK YOU." AN
"Greetings
in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus, I am one of your subscribers
and let me say I have been enormously encouraged by your monthly
newsletter. May God continue to strengthen your ministry. Amen.
I am writing this letter to ask for one favor. This morning I
mistakenly deleted my newsletter. Could you please send me another
one today? Thanks." unsigned
"Just a quick
note to tell you that your newsletter was right on target for
me tonight. I work at a homeless shelter and have recently been
moved to the position of chaplain. I want to do so much. Guess
I was overdoing it, because I ended up in the hospital this week
for three days while doctors helped to get my blood pressure back
down and my chest pains to stop. Today I returned to work and
I was a little down and then I came home and read your newsletter.
Just what the doctor (God!) ordered!" MJ
"I have been
reading your newsletter for awhile and have found it enjoyable

"It is good.
Daniel"
"Keep up
the good work. God's Peace, Rick"
"Somehow
I got included in your newsletter, and just wanted to tell you
how much I enjoy it. God seems to use it as a vehicle to get His
point across. One more than one occasion I have received it at
just the right time, with just the right message..... it was like
getting a love letter from God at an especially tough time in
my life. Thought you would like to know how God was putting your
service to good use! Penny"
"It touched
my heart. In His name, Sue"
"What a treat!!!!
Thank you very much and God bless! In Christ, Wilma"
"Nathan,
thanks for the latest copy of The Lighthouse. I was finishing
up a lesson [on] James and walking in wisdom for a SS lesson.
I hope you don't mind, but I used part of your note on courage
as an example. It was perfect timing. Cherry"
"Receiving

Thank you so much. God is very proud of all of you! Blessings

the update, Nathan. I appreciate the newsletter. Please update
your readership on how these changes work out. It is fascinating
to see you grow. Peace, Joni..."
"Just wanted
to thank you for your articles. It's such an encouragement. Today,
I am feeling a little down because of [omitted]... and I went
back to these write-ups, and felt the load I have been feeling
just got lifted up. OBEDIENCE, I will be to His word, and let
it go for God to handle the situation. Thank you for sharing your
testimony, we may never meet in person but I know I will meet
you when we get to heaven some-day. Much love, In Christ, Wilma"
(sent in response to the July 2000 issue)
"Thank you
for Tea with Tamara. It was truly encouraging and inspiring."
(July issue)
"I needed
reminding to put God in my group by seeking his will and advice
and help. I was going off on a tangent in my own strength. Thank
you for the advice." K
"Hey Nathan
... just wanted to let you know how very much I enjoy your monthly
'newsletter.' I don't always have the time to read the whole thing
through at once, but it's kinda like the Sunday paper ... it keeps
me company all week! Have a blessed day, and may God continue
to use you to reach others! KB"
"Thank you
for sharing and may the love and light of Jesus Christ be with
you always in all ways. Pamela"

"Thank you
for offering the use of your material. I pray that God will spread
the word like wildfire. God Bless, Janet"
"Thanks,
as always, for sending out this wonderful monthly publication.
I always enjoy it so much!" Sandy
Hi. I am
a new subscriber to the newsletter and I just wanted to say that
I enjoyed it very much. THANK YOU. I'm planning to read Max Lucado's
"Mary's Prayer" at our Sunday School Class meeting next week.
I think everyone will enjoy it, and it is something to think about…….
This has really blessed me. Thanks again for the newsletter. God
bless your ministry, Jeanne" (in response to the Dec. '99 issue)
"Thank you
so much for the guidance. I admire you and the work you do in
the fellowship of the church and the in carrying the message of
Christ. Your Friend, Vicky"
"This month's
newsletter [the Sept. '99 issue] really provided a lift! I have
printed so I can keep it with me to read whenever I am discouraged
or fearful. Our house burned in March and we are presently living
with my Mother while we search for another home. The fire destroyed
that which "rust and moths destroy"; these do not promote the
Kingdom; but occasionally - more so recently - I get very discouraged
and some times fearful we won't find a house. I know I need to
trust the Lord and He will provide us a home - but that devil
just keeps nudging me!!! I have a banner next to my office computer
that says: "If you have faith, you just need to trust that every
outcome is always to your advantage!" Now why can't I internalize
that!!!! Thanks for reading and MANY thanks for the newsletter.
May God rain blessings on you. In His Precious Name…" (name withheld)
"I will add
your link to my homepage, and will be circulating your devotional
material to my friends. Andrea"
"thanks Moses!!
great as always...Lucinda" (editor's note: this one is from a
close personal friend who is a big jokester)
"I do enjoy
your newsletters. Diane"
"Wow. What
a great newsletter. If that doesn't comfort the masses, nothing
will. A" (in response to the Aug. '99 issue)
"The website
looks great. Jo"
"Being I
collect lighthouse statuary, memorabilia, and artwork...I would
be interested in receiving [your newsletter] to read. I don't
know if I will like it or not, but the prayer a friend sent me
from the Lighthouse was very nearly the same prayer I was saying
on my way to work……. Yours in Christ, Gary"
"Thank you
very much for adding me to your list of friends. I really enjoyed
the publication for the month of June. [A friend] had been forwarding
them to me. Stephanie"
"Just wanted
to let you know how thankful I am for your monthly LIGHTHOUSE.
I have a request also. I once read an email story that a friend
was forwarded, about a man who sought refuge in a cave.......
A spider's web stretched across the opening eventually saved his
life. I think it may have been called SPIDER WEB. I would love
to get a copy of it if it one that you have in your archives."
(It's in the June '99 issue.)
"Your story
touched me and it was just what I needed for today!!! God Bless
You and your ministry……. Thanks!! Sue"
