Can Planetary Aspects Indicate our Ability to Empathize?

Your site has been referenced on the Facebook page Forensic Astrology as a place for beginners to ask questions Astrology. I hope you can help me understand a quirk I have seen in the picture my great-niece. I'm not fluent in astrology by any means, but I am familiar with the basics, such as signs, houses and aspects.

She was born May 26, 1996 in Boston, at 9:12 pm His aunt is raising her as her parents abandoned her. His aunt is completely baffled by the absence of the child of compassion.A quick look at his record shows it has no planets or houses in the signs of water, with the exception of Pluto, which explains a lot. I've never seen a lack of aspects to personal planets in the sun.

From what I see in his picture, the first aspect the Sun makes to the whole planet is a sextile to Saturn. Nothing to his Moon, Venus, Mars or Mercury. So I guess I ask, what does it mean when the Sun does not have the connections to these planets, which are so fundamental? That's where my lack of training is obvious, because I can not even imagine how something like that would even appear in his birth chart. Would you be able to give me some insight into what that means?

Major Aspects : Sun Sextile Saturn, Sun Trine Uranus, Sun Opposition Pluto, Moon Trine, Mercury, Moon Square Venus, Moon Trine Mars, Moon Trine Jupiter, Moon Trine Neptune, Moon Square Ascendant, Mercury Conjunction Mars, Mercury Trine Jupiter, Mercury Quincunx Ascendant

Before I delve in to your great-niece’s chart I want you and all of my readers to understand that I believe that individuals should be allowed to develop themselves without limitations.  Keep in mind that your niece is only 15 years old and that she has her whole life ahead of her. Usually, if a child is under the age of 18, I don’t like to tell them anything about themselves. 

So I am asking you to share what I am going to tell you with her aunt, only to reinforce her.  Do not hinder her growth by confining her to her chart’s aspects. Having knowledge of her chart should provide you and her aunt with the opportunity of being more sympathetic and encouraging, knowing what kind of support she will need along the way.

Good question!  I say, you’re scary to some and compelling to others.  It depends on how comfortable a person is being uncomfortable because you’re guaranteed to consistently put “the other” in their un-comfort zone ( see tag ).  Some people enjoy this, others no so much.

As for being misunderstood, I’d say you can only understand Venus-Pluto to a degree and then another degree and then another degree. Even if you devote your life to this, you will only scratch the surface and that alone is enough to make the average person uncomfortable.

What do the rest of you think when you think “Venus-Pluto”?

I think to an outsider I may have come across as unconscious; in truth I really was aware of everything but just had NO comfort, with anyone–couldn’t talk to a single soul about the love problems. That changed over time but it was an excruciatingly slow–Pluto speed–process.

I like Elsa’s analogy of the speed/rate you can understand and in my case this has been the case. I’m sure in 10 years I’ll be looking back at myself now, too, and seeing things about myself and my value system I adhere to today.

I have this in a t square with saturn…..dont know where to start. Saturn limits opportunities and Pluto creates only plutonian opportunities. Been single 12 years….So I am either desperately lonely or fending off guys that are all wrong for me. The ones that are all wrong fro me pursue with relentless intensity. If I meet a guy that would be “right for me” he wants nothing to do with me….nothing. There is always something about me, or the timing or whatever but I always end up rejected.

Alison–me too. I have always attracted men with a lot of Scorpio. One form of Pluto energy recognizes the other, I guess.

My Venus-Pluto is part of a T-Square with my Moon. I hate to say I’m drawn to partner (don’t ask me why) but it is something that keeps happening so I’ll try to stop playing innocent, LOL

Venus/Pluto conjunct in the 5th…in Libra. Is romance light and airy for me? Hells no. I went on a date recently where the guy couldn’t stop talking. He was so congenial and bubbly and conversationally-driven that he felt all *surface* to me. I can size up depth in a short amount of time, and if I can hear the penny hit the bottom of the well, I’m out.
