July 26 (Bloomberg) -- Stephen Halmarick, Sydney-based head of investment markets research at Colonial First State Global Asset Management, talks about negotiations between U.S. lawmakers over the nation's debt limit and the outlook for the country's debt rating. President Barack Obama warned that burgeoning debt threatens to do "serious" damage to the economy and that Congress must compromise to address future deficits. Veterans Campaign's Distinguished Speaker Series Event: Senator Chuck

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Next Monday, March 21 at 7pm, Veterans Campaign will host Senator Chuck Hagel at its inaugural Distinguished Speaker Series event at The George Washington University. Senator Hagel will speak about his journey from the U.S. Army to the U.S. Senate, and how his military service influenced his decision to continue serving in elected office. There will be ample time for questions as well as a light reception. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. Please RVSP by filling out the required information below.

The event, sponsored by The George Washington University, will be held in the lower level of the Media and Public Affairs Building, 805 21st Street, NW (between H & I), and will go from 7-9 pm. The event will provide interested veterans with the chance to meet and interact with distinguished individuals who have successfully transitioned from the military to public life, and will also present a terrific opportunity for networking and camaraderie. Veterans Campaign plans to host six to ten similar events over the next year.
